Wine and dine
OASIS de LUZ is centrally located at that geographically nose between the cities DENIA and CALPE in the Costa-Blanca region.
This region is very international, not only in summer during the summer holidays but around the year due to foreign residents living here partly or permanent. This has changed the region enormously during the last 20 years. The offer of restaurants became very international. Today you will find excellent Italian restaurants, French-, Austrian-, German-, English-, Scandinavian-, Greek-, Thai-, Indian- and many other countries restaurants. And this not only at the sea-side, but also 30 to 45 minutes ride in the back-land country-side…. in those so idyllic Spanish villages.
Finding those places is sometimes not so easy, because they don’t advertise and many of them don’t even have a web-site. Word of mouth advertising made them known.
In this region you will find a lot of first class cooks from central Europe who left their country to spend the rest of their life in Spain in a warmer climate. But they wouldn’t abandon their professional passion…. the cooking ….. and they fascinate the visitor over and over again.
There are those who cook only once a week a surprise menu for a limited number of guests, and there are those who have a beautiful FINCA and delight you with a 10 course menu for 5 hours in a beautiful garden and ambience. Others invite you to have an old-fashion BRUNCH in a beautiful lavender-garden with lovely pavilions and nicely arranged tables.
WINE and DINE at those restaurants you will not be surprised to hear at least 4 different languages at the tables around you. Just recently another restaurant in Altea just below the Cathedral a restaurant was awarded a MICHELIN STAR, and now you have to make a table-reservation a week ahead.
